Custom LED displays
A display built around your space: choose its size, proportions, pixel pitch, control system and service access to suit your project.
Built around your project
Indoor LED displays are designed for use inside buildings and have different requirements from outdoor displays. One of the most important is pixel pitch: the distance in millimetres between individual LED pixels. A smaller pitch means more pixels in the same area and allows the display to show finer detail.
Our indoor displays use modules with pixel pitches from P1 to P4. P3, P2.5 and P2 are common choices, while P4 can suit some installations. Fine text and detailed content may require a smaller pitch, such as P1.86, P1.66 or P1.25. We select the specification for the actual content and viewing conditions.
Depending on the model, standard indoor display brightness ranges from 600 to 1,000 nits. The modular construction lets us define the display size, proportions and resolution within the dimensions of the individual modules.
Scalability, image quality and service
Each display is designed to an individual specification. Modules allow us to adapt its dimensions and proportions to the available space. Component selection and refresh rate contribute to a consistent, clear image.
The modular design also allows an individual faulty module to be replaced rather than the entire display.
Choosing the pixel pitch
What will you display?
Video and graphics without fine details place different demands on a screen from small text or detailed diagrams. The screen dimensions and the content should be considered together before choosing the module resolution.
How far away will viewers be?
Viewing distance is another important factor. A commonly used starting estimate relates pixel pitch to viewing distance in metres: for example, P2 at around 2 metres or P3 at around 3 metres. This is an estimate, and the content may justify a finer pitch even at a greater distance.
For the same screen area, P3 has almost twice as many pixels as P4. We assess the conditions of each project to balance image detail and cost.
Refresh rate
Refresh rate describes how often the displayed image is refreshed. It is another specification to consider alongside pixel pitch and brightness when selecting a display.
Synchronous, asynchronous or hybrid control
- Synchronous control displays a live signal from a source such as a computer, media player or camera.
- Asynchronous control uses a playlist sent to the display’s built-in player, which presents the content according to a schedule.
- Hybrid control combines both modes in one device.
Installation and service access
We also plan how the display will be mounted and serviced. Magnetic module mounts provide access to components and can be used in front-service or rear-service designs, with standard or custom housings.
